Obscure Shape's 'Tsubasa EP' on Mitsubasa is a powerhouse of percussive and chord-driven techno. Side-1 begins with 'Tsubasa,' a hard-hitting, metallic chord-driven banger that sets the tone. 'Misaki' follows, offering a spacey, sci-fi track that propels you down a black hole. The Side-2 opens with 'Matsuyama,' a tech house gem with a slight Norwegian loopy influence reminiscent of Hardcell or Adam Beyer. Closing the EP is 'Kisugi,' an underrated track featuring a big melody and a strong dancefloor anthem, potentially the best on the album. Each track delivers a lot of strength in techno.
