Subtle, standout minimal techno from German-Japanse auteurs Mitsubasa. Producer Benales lays and displays an incredible ear for texture and analog organics here, echoing some trace of Detroit techno whilst also relating something of an enviro-Berliner's hydroponic dream. With the desirous low-end burrs of 'Sorrow' - which starts out less sorrowful and more stoic, but gradually opens up as a supremely timed saw synth is heard gliding over the top - and the rumbly clairvoyant movements of 'Kinetic' and 'Flux', it's clear that Benales harbours an obsession with energy and flow; he treats every ounce of low end with the saturation it deserves, preferring organically textured kicks rather than pure metallic hits; listen closely.
