Here's something to set the pulse racing: a surprise mini album on Night Defined from SUED co-founder Stefan Wust AKA SW. In keeping with his previous releases and trademark style, it's a subtly varied, analogue-rich and undeniably atmospheric affair. It sees the experienced German producer easily slip between effervescent ambient jazz ("Open Ja Zz"), hard to pigeonhole jazz/electro/ambient fusion ("Silverlight Jazzshort"), mutant electronic drum workouts with added foreboding fizz ("City Africa Ma XXX", the rhythmically dense but melodically breezy "Eatzabeatzgangstern"), deep and spaced-out soundscapes ("Drukqs Ideat"), and quirky, off-kilter, bass-heavy headiness ("Deep Hauntingshit").
