It's hard to over-emphasize the impact that Mr Fingers' "Washing Machine" EP had when it was first released in 1986. The follow-up to the similarly influential "Mystery Of Love" - arguably the foundation stone for the deep house sound - the EP's track listing contained two cuts that would still make many people's 'best house tunes' list: "Washing Machine", a clattering, delay-laden early acid house workout that peppered a jacking drum beat with wonky TB-303 motifs, and the breath-taking deep house bliss of "Can You Feel It" in its original instrumental mix form. Both should be in your collection; if not, then snap up one of these red vinyl reissue copies ASAP. For the record, bonus deep house/acid house fusion cut "Beyond The Clouds" is also superb.
