Chris 'CZ' Wang has long been part of the extended Mood Hut family, so it's nice to see his People Plus project transfer to the Vancouver label following an impressive debut on Incienso last year. All five tracks are as spacey, dubbed-out and out-there as you'd expect, with Wang effortlessly blurring the boundaries between sun-baked jazz-funk, Pender Street Steppers style deep house, intergalactic ambient jazz and hypnotic, dub-wise soundscapes. Pigeonholing Wang's instinctive and hugely inventive musical fusions is nigh on impossible, so we'd advise taking the time to listen to the extended clips all the way through. We promise that you won't be disappointed; in fact, it could be Mood Hut's strongest release in years.
