Detroit by way of Cincinnati's Maurice Turner returns with this new offering: the Pulsar EP for Terence Parker's renowned Intangible Records & Soundworks. This follows up up his Glory EP for the label last year. It's a straight up, hands in the air affair in the vein of the classic midwest sound on the title track: this will really show the new kids who claim to be into 'old school' how it's really done. You can't really dispute anything about a tune named "I Want House", right? This tough and stomping workout packs in enough bump and shuffle to burn up any dancefloor. On the flip, he dives deep into the evocative and hypnotic on "Mars" that's' all about those fuzzy strings and lush orchestral section that's been sampled really well. Finally he gets techy with the raw and jackin' late night jam "Night Vision" which calls to mind classic K Alexi.
