Sharp sounds, ace titles; there's little not to like to this mini LP. While they're hardly prolific, this Scottish/Irish duo have always delivered quality when they do release their creations (as proved by their work on Heatray Records). Exploring the elements of classic electro while bending aspects such as time and tempo, each of these cuts sings a different robot hymn; "Invisible Creatures" is all woozy and downtempo while its reprise "Invisible Creatures Attack" is a much darker piece of work with staccato synth squiggles and a gritty analogue lead loop. "Amorphous Form" is perhaps the most interesting take on electro as it shimmers with real cosmic glee. "Thing In The Jungle" is also worthy of note; all fractured and stuttering, it's as close to jazz as electro can get. Those hungry for a more obvious Detroitian edge should jump on the likes of "Hideous Dwarf" and "Forest With Creature". Fiendishly good.
