Lutto Lento is Lubomir Grzelak, an experimental artist from Poland who has enjoyed a fine year with records on Transatlantyk and Where to Now? Landing one last Lento shaped punch for the year are Slovakian label Proto Sites with this 12" of seriously dusty and mysterious subterranean house that fans of UntilMyHeartStops and Soul People Music will definitely enjoy. A dense off kilter kick drum supports crackly old vinyl samples and field recordings on "Dog Leaf" and a rusty old drum machine flexes its muscle beneath quirky micro samples on "Gang Dog Ghosts". On the flip, "Mantle Of Strength" gets a bit more tough with its groove, where the very refrain repeats in hypnotic fashion over woozy pads and a funky as hell groove. "Anika" is rather jagged with its tough broken beat balanced out by an ethereal atmosphere.
