Refreshingly percussive experimental editry from Richard Wolfhouse, whose debut release for Trule wouldn't convince us that this was the work of a newcomer for a second. The three untitleds that pepper this one all take their drum samples - of which there are many layered on top of one another - from various 1970s African percussion records. These come combined with OG synthesis from a modular rack, resulting in long, winding and multi-layered percussion workouts that we'd wager not every dancefloor cat can handle. Decidedly wonky and naturalistic, packed to the brim with instrumental references and niche percussions, and yet still respectful of its source material, we can only hope for more of the likes of this one.
