You can always rely on the Peoples Potential Unlimited crew to dig deep and uncover the slept-on gems you'll have missed. This jukebox style 7" is another obscure killer - a 1987 electrofunk/soul groover from Shelve (pronounced, apparently, 'Shel-Ve'), a band formed and fronted by Californian producer Shelby Hurns. As usual with PPU, its hot stuff, with a soulful, space-themed vocal riding a hard electro groove and slick P Funk guitars. The flipside contains an excellent Dub, too, featuring some half whispered vocals and more space around the essential groove. If you like your cuts far-sighted, soul-flecked and synth heavy, "This World" is a must-buy.
