Now a 'textural ambient' veteran - and probably one of the top artists in the realm, harbouring much credo to its origins as a netscene - Mu Tate continues to affirm their claim to the throne with the release of They're With You Always. The mysterious project spans eight originals, unevenly distributed across two sides of vinyl (three tracks on the A, five on the B) to produce an Utterly soothing magic underworld. Perhaps following the immersive ambient dub tradition first trailblazed by Deepchord, but bringing out the thematic and stylistic elements even further, we hear endless goings-deeper on this album, not to mention the various collabs from the stretched-thin-samply 'Track 04' with Space Afrika, or the ruminatory midnight-in-Tokyo monologue 'Was It Holy' with Desiree Monique.
