International Anthem proves once more that it is one of the most forward thinking jazz labels out there right now with another super album. This one is from Damon Locks and Rob Mazurka and takes the form of a fictional mix tape interlaced with beat collages, samples, improvisation, surreal DJ banter and the counter cultural essence of pirate radio. It's a freeform ride with elements of broken beat and nu-jazz with some singalong moments, plenty of neat hooks and a real energy that keeps you engaged as it swiftly moves on through different mnoods and grooves.
