Since it emerged last autumn, Hot Biscuit Recordings - a Newcastyle-on-Tyne based imprint - has leant heavily on the edit archives of legendary Chicagoan DJ Rahaan. Here they make another deep dive into his vaults, returning with vocal and instrumental 'remixes' (basically edits, though presumably with a few added flourishes and subtle extra instrumentation) of an obscure disco gem. The A-side original revision subtly stretches out the beats before settling into a Clavinet-laden, horn-toting disco groove. Rahaan later teases in the original orchestration and a sublime, Curtis Mayfield-esque lead vocal. It's superb, as is the flipside 'Instrumental Mix', which sees him make merry with jammed-out electric piano solos, swelling strings and a near-perfect bassline.
