What can you say about a Common record that is a classic but didn't become one until a few years later? Released in 2001, this record wasn't a huge seller when it came out. Not sure what the reason for that. Perhaps it was the fact that only a few singles actually came out and were pushed. One of the best cuts on the record, 'The Light' was never even released domestically. Or perhaps it was the fact that in a hip hop world dominated by gangsta rap records, this had a different sound, as Common does and was overlooked. Produced by Jay Dee (Dilla) from Slum Village, it's got that smooth Jay Dee vibe that's a jazz-inspired masterpiece. This is packaged in it's original picture sleeve. This is a timeless hip hop classic that Common will be remembered for and people will be checking for with the recent release of "Be". Produced by Jay Dee (Dilla)!
