We'll never have too much of Ed Upton's slick electro fare, and he's on especially funky form on this new DMX Krew drop for Magnetron. 'Seriously' is a boogie-informed joint with all the sweet and sexy synth licks you would expect, piling the squelchy Moog lines on heavy and aiming squarely at the hips. 'Weird One' nudges some of those boogie motifs towards a curious amalgam somewhere between braindance and synth-pop - that might sound like a funny crossover but it sounds wholly natural. 'Shut Up' is more explicitly leaning towards a freaky proto house sound, while 'Back Again' switches stance for some sneaky electro fare. Quite simply, every track is a masterclass, but then what else would you expect from the mighty DMX?
