"David Bowie 5. Brilliant Adventure (1992 – 2001)", piąty z serii boksów podsumowujących karierę Davida Bowiego od 1969 roku po XXI wiek.  Zestaw zawiera niewydany nigdy wcześniej album "Toy". 

Album "Toy" został nagrany po triumfalnym występie Davida na Glastonbury 2000. Bowiemu w studiu towarzyszyli Mark Plati, Sterling Campbell, Gail Ann Dorsey, Earl Slick, Mike Garson, Holly Palmer i Emm Gryner, by zarejestrować nowe interpretacje piosenek, które powstały w latach 1964-1971. Miała to być oldschoolowo nagrana płyta, z zespołem grającym na żywo, z wybranymi najlepszymi wersjami. Niestety w 2001 roku nie było możliwości, by niespodziewanie wydać album dla fanów, jak to wymarzył sobie David.

"David Bowie 5. Brilliant Adventure (1992 – 2001)" to 11 płyt CD oraz 18 winyli, a także format cyfrowy. Tytuł tej kolekcji został zaczerpnięty z tytułu piosenki "Brilliant Adventure" z płyty "hours...". W zestawie znajdą się zremasterowane na nowo wersje utworów z najbardziej eksperymentalnego okresu w twórczości Bowiego, czyli: "Black Tie White Noise", "The Buddha Of Suburbia", "1.Outside", "Earthling", "‘hours...'", "BBC Radio Theatre, London, June 27, 2000", "Re:Call 5" oraz "Toy".

Wyłącznie w zestawie "David Bowie 5. Brilliant Adventure (1992 – 2001)" znajdą się "Radio Theatre, London, June 27, 2000" oraz "Re:Call 5". Pierwszy z materiałów zarejestrowano dwa dni po słynnym koncercie Bowiego na Glastonbury. Występ odbył się dla 500 szczęśliwych fanów w centrum Londynu. Wybrane utwory z tego show zostały wcześniej wydane na "Bowie At The Beeb" z 2000 roku, ale cały koncert dotąd nie ukazał się na winylu. "Re:Call 5" to z kolei 39 nagrań - niepochodzących z albumów, alternatywnych wersji, B-side'ów czy piosenek z soundtracków zamieszczonych na 3 płytach CD oraz 4LP.

Box zawiera również 84-stronicową (w przypadku winylowej edycji) lub 128-stronicową (w przypadku edycji CD) książeczkę z niepublikowanymi zdjęciami tak uznanych fotografów jak Frank W. Ockenfels 3, Nick Knight, John Scarisbrick czy Nina Schultz Terner. Całość uzupełniają rozmaite pamiątki, notki techniczne producentów (Brian Eno, Nile Rodgers, Reeves Gabrels, Mark Plati), a także wywiad z Erdalem Kizilçayem, z którym Bowie współpracował przy "The Buddha Of Suburbia".

Wersja kompaktowa i analogowa zawierają ten sam materiał.
