It's been a while since we last heard from Stefan Junge and his Piska Power project, which previously appeared on Aussie imprint Power Station via two EPs of throbbing, industrial and EBM-influenced insanity. There's plenty to enjoy on Jung's first outing on Voam. Check first pulsating, modular-sounding opener 'Thermal Cycler', where wayward, mind-altering motifs and fizzing electronics ride a locked-in techno beat, before admiring the thickset late-night sleaze of the similarly brain-melting 'Taxon'. Over on the flip, 'Pica Pica' peppers a breathless, out-there rhythm with trippy electronics, while 'Vococa' is an oddball, pitched-down EBM number full of robotic vocals, strange sounds and wonky beats.
