The Toy Tonics label has pulled together 10 lesser-known Italian disco and funky pop tunes from the 1970s and had them reworked by a crack team of modern artists. The results are fresh and organic and packed with good-time vibes. Kapote kicks off with big silky strings and falsetto vocals that get you in a spin and further highlights come from Paul Older with his strident disco licks and a sumptuous and theatric rework of 'Sesso Spaghetti' from BPlan. For those who like their licks cosmic then Paul Odler's closing rework of 'Bye' is pure bait.
