DJ Godfather's recent album Electro Beats For Freaks, his first for a decade, was something of an epic, with the digital download version containing 44 tracks - hence this slimmed-down vinyl sampler. Title track 'Show Some Respect' is particularly potent, with fizzing electronics and typically bold vocal snippets riding a raw but funky bassline and punchy electro beats. 'Sunday Morning Spliff' boasts a faster, more shuffling electro rhythm, but also all manner of deep, emotive and bittersweet musical elements that make it one of his most expansive and detailed cuts to date. Those after stomping, synth-fired ghetto-tech should turn to the flip, where we get vocal and instrumental takes of the deliciously sleazy 'Three Strippers'.
