To coincide with the release of an expansive CD box-set and superb re-issues of New Age Steppers' original albums, Adrian Sherwood has trawled through the vaults and put together a companion compilation that draws on rare dubs, unheard tracks and alternate takes from the entirety of the Ari Up-fronted project's existence. It's a fine collection that should appeal to both confirmed fans and newcomers alike, with highlights including 'Send For Me', a previously unreleased Atlantic Starr cover originally recorded for a 1983 Peel Session, the tipsy brilliance of 'Some Dub' (a formerly buried re-interpretation of Foundation Steppers opener 'Some Love'), and 1980 track 'Izalize', which later became the basis of an African Head Charge cut.
