The iconic On-U-Sound serves up a quick-fire follow up to the New Age Stepper's self-titled debut, in the form of this new set from the same year, 1981. It's less dark, more melodic, and therefore more accessible than the last outing and is largely built on versions of tunes sourced from reggae imports of the era. Bim Sherman, Horace Andy and B.B. Seaton all get radically reinvented and redefined with Ari Up of the Slits taking centre stage on many tunes with her great vocal turns. This one hasn't been on wax for more than 40 years and now comes with new liner notes and interviews.
