Before concentrating on his solo work as St Germain, Ludovic Navarre worked extensively with Didier Delasalle, a producer best known for his releases as Shazz, under a variety of pseudonyms. One of these was Soofle, and it's Navarre and Delesalle's sole EP under that moniker - 1993's "Nouveau" - that Groovin' Records has now decided to reissue. As you'd expect, there are plenty of nods towards dreamy deep house amongst the Motor City inspired cuts on show, with opener "Thrill" - where bubbly acid lines, hazy chords and lilting melodies ride a bustling groove - and the organ-sporting "Happy Cycle" particularly impressing. Also worth a look is closing cut, "How Do You Plead", which is arguably the most deep and melodious of the lot.
