Tokonoma Records serve up a much sought after reissue of The Butterfly Sanctuary here, an album that was originally recorded by Mexican Luis Perez back in 1989. It only got a limited distribution, on CD only, back then, and has been much sought after by vinyl lovers ever since. Using pre Columbian instruments only, the music seeks to capture the sound of the jungle with indigenous flutes, wooden percussive shakers, hits and clacks, and a mysterious sense fo the unknown. Both organic yet ethereal, it is a hypnotic listen that draws you deep into a world a million miles away from here.
