Second time around for Higher Sense's 1994 classic 'Cold Fresh Air', an Ant Miles and DJ Rhythm co-production that has long been considered an original drum & bass classic. First time round, it was a staple in LTJ Bukem's sets, thanks in part to its fusion of booming sub-bass, heavily chopped Amen breaks and deep, melodic breakdowns. This time round, the record opens with a fine revision from Paul Smailes AKA New Decade. He does a great job focusing on the more jungle style elements of the original with only occasional melodic flourishes to send shivers down the spine. Turn to the flip for the previously unreleased VIP mix from '94, an even deeper and more spacey affair that makes more use of some sweet vocal snippets.
