Mark de Clive-Lowe is a musical maverick who now comes back to his roots with a new record that explores electro-acoustic sounds steeped in rich piano playing. Two Italians in bass player Andrea Lombardini and drummer Tommaso Cappellato also get in on the action having been constant companions on his live tours for many years. Broken beats, global grooves, the meditative sombreness of Sakamoto and jazzy soulful looseness of Ahmad Jamal all inform this record (which was made on a road trip from Italy to Switzerland) which is as good for dark winter nights as it is warm summer days.
