The latest must-check reissue from the admirable Be With label offers up a particularly obscure - but undeniably impressive - library music release from 1983. It was originally made available to subscribers to the "Coloursound Library" imprint, an outlet focused on "experimental and progressive" sounds. The material on "The Now Generation: Percussive Underscores" is certainly inventive, with composers Peter Ludemann and Pit Troja variously combining South American and African style hand percussion with spacey synthesizers, evocative fretless bass, Latin disco themes, a sprinkling of Chic style guitars and some suitably out-there electronics. It may be obscure, but as albums go it's rather special.
