Having spent the majority of his career serving up hits on Boysnoize Records, Berlin-based French producer Djedjotronic arrives on Central Processing Unit with his most electro-centric collection of cuts to date. Whereas much of his discography mines leftfield techno, EBM and new wave for inspiration, "Cruising" tips a wink or two towards the likes of Drexciya, Kraftwerk and Aux88. Much of the material on offer is dancefloor-centric in tone, with Djedjotronic peppering punchy beat-box rhythms with spacey synthesizer melodies, fizzing electrofunk bass, pulsating analogue riffs and dreamy, intergalactic chords. It's uniformly excellent, though if we had to pick two highlights we'd point you towards the synthesizer-heavy, funk-fuelled title track (think the Pet Shop Boys jamming with James Stimson) and the bounding, EBM-influenced dancefloor darkness of "Tunnel".
