It's not often you find two stone cold Chicago house classics squeezed onto one 7" single, but that's what the folks at TRAX have done here. Hot on the heels of the release of Larry Heard's first album in 20-odd years, they've dug out two of his most celebrated early works. On the A-side you'll find the original instrumental mix of "Can You Feel It", arguably the first deep house anthem and a track so breathtakingly timeless that it's still capable of sending shivers down the spine some 32 years after it was made. Turn to the flip for "Washing Machine", the mind-altering early Chicago house rub - all snappy drum machine snare fills, mind-altering motifs, trippy delays and hissing cymbal hits - that remains one of Heard's most potent tracks.
