Frenchman Emmanuel Top has been serving up blistering techno since the 1990s, following stints in chart bothering, rave-era trance outfits Age of Love and B.B.E. Here he pops up on fast-rising Chilean imprint Sienna Obscure with some typically forthright, club-focused fare. Naturally, it's title track "Redux" that arguably hits home hardest, with Top peppering a jacking loop techno jam with wild and winding TB-303 acid lines. Old pals Hardfloor naturally focus on the latter aspect on their fine flipside remix, which maintains the techno intensity whilst moving further towards acid house territory. Fellow techno veteran Joey Beltram delivers a creepier, vintage R&S style re-rub, while bonus cut "Blitz" is a deeper, low-slung acid wriggler.
