For those with a love of ambient and intelligent techno, Robert Leiner's 1994 debut album, Visions of the Past, has long been considered something of a must-have classic. Sadly, vinyl copies are hard to come by these days, so it's great to see the album's standout moment - dubbed-out intelligent techno epic "Aqua Viva" - getting the reissue treatment. The 12-minute original ebbs and flows wonderfully throughout, with waves of loved-up melodies, sweeping pads and whale noises (a big feature of ambient techno tracks during that period) lapping around a dub bassline and fizzing beats. On the flip you'll find a fresh edit from Edward that gives the track a slightly sparser feel whilst retaining the key melodic elements and bustling, dub-inspired bassline.
