John T. Gast’s 'Inna Babalon' was originally published as a cassette on Gast’s 5 Gate Temple in 2016. An important offering in the British producer’s output. Haunter Records is now remedying the physical unavailability of the album by giving it renewed life as a Limited double LP. FIRST 300 COPIES ON CLEAR VINYL.
Know that feeling when you just want to play something out but can't? Oh yes, we get a little tingle of joy each and every time that one of our favourite cassettes is pressed up onto vinyl, and especially if it involves someone like the mighty John T Gast! Inna Babalon was an instant hit with us when it was released on 5 Gate Temple back in March 2016, on a limited run of 100 copies; the prodigious Haunter Records, out of Milan, really have done the right thing here - if anything, the artwork is a total killer. Thankfully, the music is pretty amazing too, offering a hazy, grey-scaled collection of distortions that subtly recall something marginally dubwise. The stutter of the beats, the glow of the low frequencies, and the melodies themselves could almost align to the Jahtari output, except that here the output is more heavily drenched in an industrial coating. We love it, and we're pretty sure it'll fly of the shelves in no time, so grab yours quick!
