Steffen Laschinski's Rising Sun project has been a prolific outlet over the past 5 years or so, and has largely surfaced on the Kristofferson Kristofferson label. A new year brings a new Rising Sun record on Kristofferson Kristofferson in the shape of double A 12" Message/Come Together with both tracks on the vinyl marked as "dubplate" mixes. "Message" has a rousing set of strings powering a socially-conscious speech over a crisp disco beat, crafted to stir the heartstrings as much as possible with a finely balanced melancholy. "Come Together" brings more meaningful vocal thoughts into the mix, while the track itself plies a broken rhythm and mellow chords for an altogether more laid back experience.
