Mysterious trio France, who hail from the nation of their moniker, have been making waves in the UK psych/noise underground of late, and largely down to this mighty opus, which looks set to place itself firmly on the pantheon of outsider classics alongside the like of Mainliner's 'Mellow Out' and Boredoms' 'Vision Creation Newsun'. Yet this is altogether a more restrained beast - using hurdy-gurdy, bass and drums, this entourage crafts a blissfully droning and mantric monochordal spell akin to Vibracathedral Orchestra or a more upbeat version of Faust's work with Tony Conrad. Both a less-is-more triumph and a transformative slice of avant-atavism, 'Do Den Haag Church' should be only self-respecting head's shopping list forthwith.
