Over the last couple of years, both members of Genius of Time have been firmly focused on their solo careers. Here, they join forces for the first time since 2014, serving up a fine two-tracker on their Aniara Recordings label. "Kepler 186f" is a pleasingly stargazing affair, with spacey chords, Detroit techno style melodies and occasional acid flashes bubbling away over a rolling, analogue sounding deep house groove. On the flip, they deliver a more robust, tribal influenced groove, peppering these humid rhythms with a gurgling bassline, typically European tech-house electronics and chiming melody lines. It's an excellent return to action, all told.
