Noleian Reusse and Jamal Moss have been working together as Africans With Mainframes for the best part of 15 years, though in recent times their releases have been sporadic, to say the least. Faces Of Africa is a follow-up to last year's Commission Number 3 12" on Bio Rhythm, and marks their first appearance on Mathematics since 2010. The first untitled track sets the tone, with the duo smartly combining squelchy bass, African-influenced drum machine rhythms, and just the right amount of deep and dreamy electronics. The second cut is even deeper and dreamier - whilst retaining a solid, floor-friendly foundation - while the flipside workout is wild, bold and heavy, with clear echoes of early '90s bleep techno.
